Injection molding quality control

Quality built into
every cycle.

Clear inspection methods, documented acceptance criteria and disciplined change control help make quality expectations practical from trial through shipment.

Quality starts before inspection

Define the evidence before production.

A high-quality molded part is not defined only by a final visual check. It depends on an agreed material specification, meaningful dimensions, usable measurement methods and a realistic definition of acceptable appearance.

Requirements should be tailored to the application. Regulated, safety-critical or end-use claims need project-specific validation by the responsible product owner and relevant qualified parties.

Four control points

Plan inspection
around risk.

01

Incoming verification

Confirm the agreed resin grade, relevant certificates and the controlled handling requirements before production begins.

02

First article approval

Compare trial samples with the approved drawing, dimensional datums, appearance criteria and functional requirements.

03

In-process inspection

Use defined checks and a documented response path to monitor process stability during the production run.

04

Final AQL release

Apply the agreed sampling plan, packaging standard and release documentation before dispatch.

Make acceptance measurable

Documentation should answer practical questions.

The documents needed for a programme depend on the part and industry. The essential point is to agree the format, evidence and timing before mass production starts.

  • Material certificates, lot traceability and any regrind restrictions
  • Dimensional report, datums and measurement-system expectations
  • Visual references, boundary samples and defect classifications
  • First article, control plan, PPAP or AQL requirements where applicable
  • Packing, labeling and shipment release documents
